About The Area
Rockledge is the oldest incorporated city in Brevard County. It is bordered on the East by the Indian River Lagoon and on the west by I-95.
The city has begun work on the Barton Streetscape project, which is meant to make Barton Blvd a more pedestrian friendly area with a “downtown” feel. A new police station and public area is being built just North of Ester Blvd, on Murrell. A new city library is planned in the location of the current police station. Planning is currently underway for the widening and four laneing of Barnes Blvd.
The city has events throughout the year like: Car Shows, Independence Day Picnic, Parades, etc. Rockledge also partners with the city of Cocoa for the Annual Independence Day fireworks show at Cocoa’s Riverfront Park.
Just a stone’s throw from Rockledge is Cocoa Village, home to craft fairs, concerts, plays, festivals, and many great restaurants.
